Whatever else might characterize the Army's state of preparedness, one thing is for certain. The Cadets have not been spending too much time on the tennis court.
Yesterday they were no match for the Harvard men's tennis team, falling 10-0 at West Point.
In trying to be all that they could be, the Cadets fared poorly, failing to capture a set against a top-notch Crimson squad, ranked in the top 20 nationally.
Leading the Harvard charge was senior All-American Howard Sands, who polished off Cadet Chris Wilson 6-2, 6-2, at first singles. The rest of the Harvard ranks followed suit, dispatching their opponents with similar ease.
