Defeated Republican Senate candidate Raymond Shamie left the stage at the Copley Marriott, surrounded by a pack of media personalities.

So who sneaks up for a microphone check? None other than our own I. Logan Evans '86, resident politico cum publicity hound.

Satisfied that the mike was on, and encouraged by a couple of friends, Evans launched several minutes into one of his patented visionary speeches before being mobbed by Harvard supporters.

"On the ashes of the old world a new world is rising," he said. "I think it's time that our generation had a word in."
