George Moore's The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs, adapted by Simone Benmusson, takes the stage this weekend at the Loeb Experimental Theater. The plot centers around a woman who disguises herself as a man but who, in the process, commits herself to a life of lonliness and despair. There is one performance Friday, and there are two on Saturday--one matinee. The show is free.

Lanford Wilson's Home Free continues its first of two weekend performances tonight in the Adams House Kronauer Space. Home Free, which stars one man and one woman, "related in every way possible," should be an innovative and intensive look at tragedy in the modern world. Tickets are $3 each.

Tomorrow night the Harvard Glee Club, the Radcliffe Choral Society and the Harvard-Radcliffe Collegium Musicum present the famous Requiem by Johann Brahms. With such a powerful choral ensemble, accompanied by the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra and feature solosits baritone Sanford Sylvan and soprano Doralene Davis, tomorrow night's show promises to be outstanding. The Dunster House Music Society is sponsoring a Brandenburg Party and open reading of Handel's Concerti Grosso, Organ Concerto and Viola Concerto. Michael Natal'90, will perform the organ parts, accompanied by violist Alexandra Moellman '89. Ken Uchino '89 will conduct the afternoon performance, in which all string players are welcome.
Liam Clancy and Friends in Concert

This Sunday the Poet's Theater presents an "evening of Irish music, poetry and song" with Liam Clancy of the Clancy Brothers. Accompaying Clancy will be four Irish musicians, Geraldine Dunne, Paul Grant, Thomas Keane and Martin Murray, in a celebration of Irish ballads and poetry. The songwriter will perform traditional folk tunes as well as more modern ones with the company, who will play instruments ranging from fiddle and mandolin to the flute, harp and pipe.
Romanian Film Now
At the Carpenter Center

This weekend the Harvard Film Archive at the Carpenter Center celebrates the world of Romanian film with a two-part series honoring recent Romanian film makers. On Friday, Jacob, directed by Mircea Daneliuc, presents the stroy of a gold miner in Transylvania. Jacob was shown at the New York Film Festival this year and received international acclaim. It will be shown at 7 p.m. and again on Saturday at 9 p.m.
Dan Pita's Paso Doble, a classical love story about factory workers involved in a menage-a-trois, takes the screen at 9 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Sunday. Then, Wasps Nest, which is a satirical glimpse at the life of nouveau riche sisters and their family antics, takes over Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday night at 7 p.m., as well.

At Sanders Theater
Tonight the Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra (HRO) presents Bernstein's Overture to Candide, Prokofieff's Piano Concerto No. 3, and Prokofieff's Symphony No. 5 in the organization's second concert of the year. Perfoming the Piano Concerto will be Hugh Hinton '90, winner of the HRO 1988 Concerto Competition. Tickets for tonight's performance are $3, $5 and $7 at Holyoke Center and $4, $6 and $8 at the door.
