Be it resolved that the following letter be distributed to selected Harvard professors in order to facilitate their participation in Spirit Week:

Dear Professor.... ,

Life at Harvard can be academically challenging but socially isolating. Sometimes we become so involved in our work that we forget the things that bind us all together: common friendships and pride in our College. This is why the members of the Undergraduate Council - the official governing body of Harvard College students- want to recreate the spirit of camraderie.in a fun-filled week of celebration. Let these words resound across our campus: March 13th through March 17th shall be declared Spirit Week! To give Spirit Week a fun spin, we decided to give each day of the week a special sartorial flavor. Every day, students will dress up in different outfits to suit the day's topic. Below is the wardrobe schedule:

Monday: Pajama Day

Tuesday: Color Day (each class will wear a special color)

Wednesday: Harvard Day

Thursday: Formal Day

Friday: Crazy Hat/ St. Patrick's Day

You can help make Spirit Week a success by wearing an item of theme clothing to lecture one day out of the week (and pointing out to your class that you're doing so for Spirit Week.) Something as simple as a Harvard shirt on Wednesday or a tuxedo bow-tie on Thursday will go a long way towards recreating a tangible sense of community. Help us make Spirit Week a success; bring back a sense of camraderie to Harvard.

Thank You,

Harvard-Radcliffe Undergraduate Council
