Captain Anna McLoon led the way with a third-place finish in the 15K Classic and a new crop of freshman skiers made their Crimson athletic debuts in the Harvard Nordic and alpine ski teams’ first meet of the season at the St. Lawrence Carnival last weekend.
The Crimson finished 10th out of 14 teams, compiling a total of 143 points.
McLoon, a perennial top finisher in EISA events, clocked in with a time of 55:09.5. Freshman Jenna Harlow, the other Harvard women’s Nordic competitor, came in 51st with a time of 1:04:10.7 in her first collegiate race. For the men, sophomore Morgan Brown came in 63rd in the 20K Classic with a time of 1:15:24.5.
Up on the slopes, freshman Katie Connors led the Crimson in the giant slalom, finishing 41st with a time of 2:18.89. Senior Rachael Wagner was the top Harvard finisher in the slalom, coming in 47th with a time of 2:26.60. In the men’s slalom, captain Matt Perone finished 37th in 2:26.16. In the GS, freshman Daniel Tsai debuted with the top Crimson finish of 38th and a time of 1:59.51.
Next up for Harvard is the Vermont Carnival, held Jan. 6 and 7.
