The eight annual championship meeting of the National Association of Amateur Athletes of America will be held in New York, Saturday, June 2d. The programme, of the meeting has recently been published, of which the following is a synopsis. Entries are invited from college athletes. The following definition of an amateur is given: "An amateur is any person who has never competed in an open competition, or for a stake, or for public money, or for gate money, or under a false name; or with a professional for a prize, or where gate money is charged; nor has ever, at any period of his life, taught or pursued athletic exercises as a means of livelihood."

The events to be contested are: 100 yards run, 220 yards run, 440 yards run, half-mile run, one mile run, five mile run, one mile run, five mile run, one mile walk, three mile walk, seven mile walk, 120 yards hurdle race, bicycle race (two miles), bicycle race (five miles), running high jump, running broad jump, pole leaping, throwing hammer, putting the shot, throwing 56-pound weight, individual tug-of-war.

A gold championship medal will be given to the winner in each contest; a silver medal to each winner of the second place, and a bronze medal to each winner of a third place. A special prize will be awarded to the competitor making a best on record. An entrance fee of two dollars for each event must accompany all entries. Entries close May 26th, and must be made by mail. All communications should be addressed to the Secretary National Association Amateur Athletes, Post Office Box 3478, N. Y. City.
