The Second nine lost its last game of the season to Bates College at Lewiston by a score of 5 to 2. The batting of the Second nine was very weak, only three hits being made off Towne, but Bates' errorless game in the field was the chief cause of the defeat. Coburn pitched a steady game, allowing only four hits. The field was very muddy, making good playing impossible.
