SPANISH WAR LECTURE.

Under the auspices of the Sociedad Espanola, Colonel Charles K. Darling, of the 6th Massachusetts, U. S. V., will speak in the Lecture Room of the Fogg Museum, this evening at 8 o'clock, on "The Puerto Rican Campaign of the Spanish-American War in 1898." The lecture will be illustrated by the stereopticon, and will be open to the public.

After narrating the story of the campaign in Puerto Rico, Colonel Darling will give the results of his observations made upon revisiting the island last year and will refer to the changes made under American administration.

Colonel Darling is a graduate of Dartmouth College in the class of 1885, and, besides his colonelcy, holds the position of United States Marshal in Massachusetts. In the Spanish war, he was in command of one of the battalions of the Sixth Massachusetts, which defeated and captured the entire "Alfonso XIII" regiment of Spain. This battalion was the only body of Massachusetts troops which saw active service in the war.

After the address an informal reception for members and prospective members of the Sociedad Espanola will be held in the Assembly Room of the Union.
