Work Begun for New Law Building

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Work was begun last Tuesday upon the construction of the new Law School building, which is to stand just to the north-east of Austin Hall. Large test holes have been dug at intervals at either end and along the sides of the intended site, for the purpose of ascertaining the condition of the ground. In depth they vary from 6 to 10 feet, and thus far only a soft clay-like soil has been found, which will enable the excavation to be carried on with great rapidity. Yesterday the tool houses and implements for digging were brought to the site.

Actual excavation will probably be started in a day or two, and will necessitate moving the three large willow trees on the south end of Holmes Field and tearing up several of the tennis courts.
