Review of Rowing Practice

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The practice for the University and Freshman crew squads yesterday afternoon was very light. The University eight went down-stream to the Cottage Farm Bridge and back, rowing in short stretches at a stroke varying between 33 and 35. Most of the practice this week has been of this order with a view to quickening the work of the men through out the boat.

The University and second four-oars went up-stream. Tabor and Smith were both again tried at 3 in the second four, and it has not yet been decided which one will be taken to New London. The Freshman eight and fours also practiced up-stream. Several brushes were held between the fours and the orders were continually changed, but it is expected that a definite four-oar and substitutes will be picked today. The launch "John Harvard" left for New London early Wednesday morning and all the shells will follow after practice tomorrow.
