New Comparative Literature Books

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

A new series of books, which will be called the "Harvard Studies in Comparative Literature," has been founded by Professor W. H. Schofield, Ph.D. '93, professor of comparative literature. It will comprise works by Harvard graduates or instructors in the field of comparative literature. This will be taken to include studies of important works of whatever land, age, or character, in their relation not only to other literature, but also to history, philosophy, and the fine arts.

Professor Santayana, professor of philosophy, will inaugurate the series, and the subject of his book will be "Three Philosophical Poets--Lucretius, Dante, and Goethe." The series will be published by the University itself, and the first volume will appear in June.
