HUPD Chief Says Harvard Yard Encampment is Peaceful, Defends Students’ Right to Protest
The finals of the interclass debates on the question, "Resolved: That Woman Suffrage should be adopted by all States in the Union," will be held in the New Lecture Hall this evening at 8 o'clock, when the Junior team, upholding the affirmative, will meet the Freshman team, arguing for the negative. The main speeches of the debate will be twelve minutes in length and the rebuttal limited to five minutes for each man.
The Junior class will be represented by H. C. Place, R. L. West and B. H. Knollenberg, while P. L. Sayre, J. W. Miller and J. W. Cooke will compose the Freshman team. Both teams will debate in the order named and the members of the winning team will be awarded with individual silver loving cups.
Professor T. N. Carver, Assistant Professor C. H. Mcllwain and Assistant Professor I. L. Winter will act as judges. The debate will be open to all members of the University.
