The subway will be opened on March 23, according to an official announcement made by the Elevated Railway Company yesterday. The first regular passenger train will leave Harvard square at 5.24 that morning, and will run through to Park street. The regular schedule will then go into effect, with two, three and four car trains running at intervals of from two to four minutes as the traffic demands. The running time will be 8 minutes.
The last train at night will leave Harvard square at 12.32 and Park street at 12.40. The first train on Sunday will leave Harvard Square at 5.54 A. M. Though the surface routes will be maintained, the schedule will be shortened, and the transfer system will be almost completely reorganized.
