LOW STUDENTS' RATES FOR OPERA

Reduction on All Seats at Stadium Production of "Siegfried."

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

All preliminary arrangements have been completed for the production of Wagner's "Siegfried," which will be given at the Stadium on June 4 by artists of the Metropolitan Opera Company, with Mr. Hertz as conductor. The cast is one of the greatest which could be assembled at this time, the artists including Mme. Gadski, Mme. Schumann-Heink, Mme. Alma Gluck, Messrs. Berger, Whitehill, Reiss, Goritz, and Ruysdael, all of the Metropolitan Opera House, New York. The orchestra, which at the Metropolitan numbers about 85, for this performance will be enlarged to 120 pieces.

Special scenery will be constructed and the stage will be partially decorated with actual foliage in the forest scenes in order to complete the illusion. Two sounding boards will be erected, one over the orchestra, and another on the stage, for the benefit of the singers.

The prices of seats are $2.50, $2, and $1.50 for those who subscribe before April 1. Boxes erected in front of the stage will be $40, $35, and $30. Those who wish to subscribe now should make checks payable to M. Steinert & Sons Co., Steinert Hall, Boston, Mass.

It was thought best, instead of reserving a number of seats for students in the University to make a general reduction of 50 cents on each personal ticket to all undergraduates, so that students may select their own seats. Mr. G. W. Cram will furnish each student a coupon which will be accepted as cash at the ticket office.
