Doubles Tennis Tournament Reaches First Semi-Finals

The semi-final match of the upper half in the annual fall doubles tennis tournament will be played this afternoon on Jarvis Field. Two other matches will also be played which will bring the lower half of the tournament to the semi-finals. No matches were played yesterday on account of a high wind. Following are the matches scheduled for today:

At 2 o'clock: W. Rand 1G and R. C. Rand '19 vs. J. V. Austin '18 and T. W. Whitall '17; P. F. Le Fevre '18 and H. T. Davis '18 vs. D. R. Scott 1G and J. R. Moore 2G.

At 3.30 o'clock: H. R. Guild '17 and C. Jennings 1L vs. D. K. Dunmore '18 and E. B. Benedict '18.

Trials for the class tennis teams will begin on Monday, October 23. Candidates must sign up at Leavitt and Peirce's by 6 o'clock tomorrow night. After the class teams have been selected the interclass tournament will be held. The following men have been appointed captains: for 1917, J. S. Pfaffman; for 1918, H. G. Kelleher; for 1919, R. C. Rand; for 1920, G. W. Helm.
