Charles Edward Masters '21 of Newton Centre was elected captain of the University soccer team yesterday at a meeting of the members of the squad, following the taking of the picture. Masters has played an excellent game at right half-back throughout the year, and his clever defensive work has been instrumental in keeping down the opponents' scores.

Masters prepared at Worcester Academy, where he first played Association football. He entered the University in the fall of 1917 and captained the Freshman soccer team during his first year here, in which position he ably piloted the seven and was the chief scorer for the team.

Practice for the soccer team will be held as usual in the spring. The team has prospects for an excellent season next year, although it will be lacking seven of its "H. A. F." players. These men, who comprise just half of the letter winners this year, are: P. K. Fisher '20, J. Glaser '20, M. Heard '20, V. B. Kellett Occ., V. E. Macy '20, G. Tilton '20, and S. Washburn '20, Several promising Freshmen will be available for the team, however.
