CERCLE FRANCAIS PLANS BROADWAY PERFORMANCE

For the first time in its history, the Cercle Francais next fall is considering an extension of its activities beyond Cambridge and Boston, and, like other college organizations, hopes to make its bow before New York City audiences. The announcement of this plan was made yesterday with that of other arrangements for the coming year. Neither the name of the production to be given, nor the theatre in which it will be staged have yet been definitely decided. In all probability, however, the New York playhouse will be the Punch and Judy Theatre. The selection of the Cercle's vehicle awaits the decision of a former member, J. M. Brown '23, ex-president of the Dramatic Club, who has been studying in Paris during the past year, and who has promised to select a play. The date for the December appearance has been set for December 5 and 6, the week preceding the final performance in Boston.

Will Benefit Louvain Library Fund

M. Perrin, who has coached the organization in its dramatic work for the last eight years will again direct the production. The proceeds of the New York performances are to go to the Louvain Library Fund, and the staging of the production has been arranged with the help of Mr. Whitney Warren, who is in charge of the drive in New York.

The tentative schedule is as follows: Agassiz House Theatre, Cambridge, December 3; New York City, December 5 and 6; Boston, December 11 and 12. The rehearsals for the play will start in the first week of October.

Announce Next Year's Officers

As the result of a postal ballot, John Davis Lodge '25, of Washington, D. C., was elected yesterday to the presidency of the Cercle Francais for the coming year. Other officers elected were Ernest Aselin Jr. '26, of New York, N. Y. vice-president; Richard Stoddard Aldrich '25, of Brookline, treasurer; Charles Coudert Nast '25, of New York, N. Y., secretary.
