Mr. William Green, President of the American Federation of Labor, will speak in the Living Room of the Union at 7.30 o'clock tonight. His subject will be "Modern Trade Unionism."

Mr. Green was elected to his present post after the death of Samuel Gompers. Mr. Green's interests have always been in labor problems and in politics. At the age of 27 he became a sub-district president of the United Mine Workers of America. After holding this position for six years, he was elected president of the Ohio Mine Workers' Union.

Since then he has held many different positions, including the post of international secretary-treasurer of the United Mine Workers of America. Until elected to the presidency, he was a member of the executive council of the American Federation of Labor.
