PURDUE TEAM IS LIGHT AND FAST

Three New Starters Named to Report at Opening Whistle--Visitors' Captain Unlikely to Play

One of the lightest and fastest elevens seen in Cambridge in recent years ran through a snappy signal drill on the Stadium turf late yesterday afternoon. This team which will represent Purdue against the University this afternoon at 3 o'clock will go into today's game outweighed by almost 14 pounds to the man. What they lack in weight the Westerners will attempt to make up in speed and accurate handling of the ball. Few plays, according to information gathered in the Boilermaker's camp yesterday afternoon, are likely to be directed at the Crimson guards this afternoon. Off tackle slants, and sweeps, and a deadly forward pass are the weapons which have constantly carried the Hoosier eleven to victory.

Since Captain C. R. Wilcox, star ground-gaining back of the Purdue aggregation, appeared yesterday afternoon at the Soldiers Field Locker Building on crutches, there is little likelihood of his being seen in action today.

All but three men of the Harvard team which faced Vermont last Saturday will be on the field at the opening kick-off this afternoon. G. K. Brown '28 at quarter back, A. E. French '29 at halfback, and R. W. Turner '28 at left guard are the new comers. All of these men, however, were shifted to Team A early in the week and have been working out in their present positions for the last few days. The only change that has been made from the order followed in the practice sessions this week is the shift of French to right instead of left wing back on the defense. David Guarnaccia '29 will carry out the defense fullback assignment this afternoon
