The Freshman crew forces will enjoy the comparative luxury of new headquarters during their week at Red Top preparatory to the Yale race on the morning of Friday, June 20, it was announced last night by C. F. Getchell, general manager of the Harvard Athletic Association. Getchell, who returned yesterday from a conference at Red Top with the architects. William Platt and Geoffrey Platt of New York City, stated that the new building will be ready by June 1, and that it will be located where Herrick Hall now stands, on a bluff across the railroad tracks northeast of the old Freshman quarters. A two-story frame house on a pillar foundation, it will contain individual bedrooms and a lounge room on the lower floor.

Plans have also been made for two new roads through the Harvard holdings, Getchell announced. One will follow a straighter path than that taken by the road leading from the site of the new Freshman quarters, while the second, in the shape of a "U", will connect the main highway and the right of way leading to the University quarters.

This latest addition to the University's athletic plant is to be paid for out of the $200,000 fund begun in July, 1928 by a group of graduates interested in crew. The headquarters for the University eight erected by the crew fund committee was used for the first time last year. A new dining hall, and a new boat house, the gift of Mrs. E. C. Bacon in memory of her husband E. C. Bacon '10, a former crew man, will also be ready for use this June.
