MUNROE'S INJURY MAY KEEP HIM OUT OF MEET

ELI FRESHMEN EXPECTED TO WIN EASILY

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Interest in the Harvard-Yale track meet scheduled for this Saturday still centered about Vernon Munroe, injured quarter-miler, yesterday as Coaches Farrell and Mikkola sent their athletes through their last stiff workout.

Munroe has been on the sidelines following the Dartmouth meet last Saturday in which he seriously aggravated a leg injury suffered the previous week in practice. Fear was expressed yesterday that he would not be in condition to face Engle in the 440 Saturday even though the trainers pronounced him much improved. Coaches and followers of the team held out hope, however, that an eleventh hour approval from the doctors would still permit him to run.

Teams Evenly Matched

With Muuroe still a questionable factor dopesters have figured out the teams to be about as evenly matched as possible. Harvard is given a slight edge however, and with Munroe in would be counted a sure winner. There is a possibility that the Stadium fans on Saturday may witness a repetition of the 1926 meet when Yale nosed out the Crimson 67 2-3 to 67 1-3. Harvard's point preponderance should come in the running events while Yale hopes to counteract this with a heavy total in the field.

Coach Farrell will ease off his athletes today and will order a complete rest for the entire squad tomorrow. The Freshman squad will have the same training regulations for it opposes the Yale Freshmen at the same time that the two University aggregations swing into action. The Yale cubs are picked to be an overwhelming victor in their dual meet with the Crimson first year men and revenge the Harvard victory of last year.

Last year the Freshmen broke a jinx which the Elis had held over the Crimson for 20 years to win 81 2-3 to 53 1-3. Many of the men who are picked to win points Saturday come up to the University forces from that team.
