The millenium of political honesty on the banks of the Charles seems to have evolutionized into the Golden Age of incompetency. The latest false step of the committee in charge of the Student Council elections is doubly regrettable since the five men now serving on the board should, according to all pass-words of democracy, be those most desirable in the eyes of the class of 1931. Unfortunately, for democracy, not more than three of them can legally lend their services next year.

It would be foolish to suggest a new election; the students show so little interest in these affairs anyway, that it is doubtful whether such a move would be worth the trouble. It is well, for democracy, that the condition is made public. Next year the election officers may hearken back to an old tradition of allowing active members to be eligible for election, and may also, ineidentally, leave space for signatures, just for democracy.
