INGLIS IS ELECTED CAPTAIN OF FRESHMEN

The University and Freshman tennis team easily won from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Andover, respectively, yesterday afternoon, both by the score of 9 to 0. At Longwood, the Seconds were defeated by the Longwood Country Club, 5 to 4. Yesterday evening it was announced that Richard Inglis Jr. '33, of South Euclid, Ohio, was elected captain of the 1933 tennis team. He prepared for Harvard at the Hawken School, and is at present playing at number two on the Freshman team.

Both the University and Freshman teams had little difficulty in winning their matches, while the Seconds, after breaking even in the singles, lost two out of three of the doubles encounters.

University:

Singles--M. T. Hill '31 defeated Searles (M.I.T.), 6-2, 6-2; W. L. Breese '31 defeated Wigglesworth (M.I.T.), 6-1, 6-4; Captain Arthur Ingrabam '30 defeated Studley (M.I.T.), 6-1, 6-1; R. L. Tower '31 defeated Regan (M.I.T.), 6-3, 6-2; D. M. Frame '32 defeated Ross (M.I.T.), 6-3, 6-0; K. B. Daggett '30 defeated Bender (M.I.T.), 6-1, 6-0.

Doubles--Ingraham and Daggett defeated Searles and Studley (M.I.T.), 6-2, 6-1; Frame and Hill defeated Wigglesworth and Regan (M.I.T.), 6-0, 6-0; E. B. Ward '30 and A. C. Ingraham '31 defeated Ross and Bender (M.I.T.), 6-0, 6-1.
