SOCCER MEN PLAY FIRST GAME THIS AFTERNOON

BRIDGEWATER DEFEATED 6 TO 2 BY NORTHEASTERN

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The University soccer team will open its season against Bridgewater Normal at 1 o'clock today on the field behind the Harvard Business School.

Coach J. F. Carr '28 of the Harvard team has had his squad practicing for a week. He has been forced to field a team composed mostly of Sophomores. Workouts, however, have been satisfactory, and with bright prospects of several good players developing out of the lot, a satisfactory season is not at all improbable.

Three Stars Back

Three men are available of the eleven who started the 1930 Yale game. They are Captain H. H. Broadbent '32, D. M. Frame '32, and P. J. Catinella '32. D. M. Frame '32 probably will not play, owing to an injured leg.

Bridgewater has played one game and on that occasion was deefated by Northeastern University 6-2. The next game will probably be with Army on October 17 at West Point, since the Amherst game has been called off. The lineup: HARVARD  BRIDGEWATER Powell, g.  g., Nardelli Catinella, l.b.  r.b., Spracklin Wemple, r.b.  l.b., Lowder Wight, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Carroll Waters, c.h.b.  c.h.b., Morey Streeter, r.h.b.  l.h.b., White Baxter, o.l.  o.r., Desmond Moskin, l.f.  i.r., Ciccone Gummere, c.f.  c.f., Cullen Broadbent, i.r.  i.l., Carreiro Schumacher, c.r.  o.l., Stanley
