To the Editors of the CRIMSON:

In the review of German 4 recently published in the CRIMSON, the following occurs: "The second half-year is little more than a vivisection of the greatest masterpieces of German literature, the principle of classroom translation is conscientiously followed with the result that Goethe is dragged down to the stifling level of French 2."

Since Professor Silz is to give the second half of German 4 this year, of which the CRIMSON is apparently unaware, the CRIMSON's review is in error, both in regard to the professor in charge of the course, and in assuming that he will conduct it as his predecessor did. It does not seem fair for the CRIMSON to reprint aged reviews of courses, disregarding the fact that the personnel and entire character of a course may be changed without its knowledge. D. S. Tarbell '34.

(Ed. Note: The CRIMSON expressly states that it is not responsible for errors in course reviews which are due to changes in courses of which no notification is given. It is, however, sincerely sorry if there has been any inconvenience caused by reviews which were "aged" because no notification was given.)
