Cold weather and hard hitting characterized the Freshman baseball game yesterday with Dummer at South Byfield, which the Crimson nine won, 19-3. Starting with a two run lead in the first inning, the 1937 team upheld their advantage for the remainder of the game. Frank Owen, on second base, starred for Harvard, making two assists and three safe hits; his fielding was faultless throughout the game.
The most exciting play of the game was a beautiful, money-making hit by George Blackwood. The ball landed on the state road behind the field for a sure home-run, only to be called out-of-bounds by a foot.
Due to the cold weather, the game was called at the end of the eighth. The next game for the Freshmen is on Friday with Lawrence Academy.
