Inaugurating the curriculum of a public business administration program which the Graduate School of Business Administration will launch in a special session on January 28 is a new course, "An Introduction to Public Business," by Nathan Isaacs, professor of Business Law.
Embodying the second principle of the new program, endeavor to train men in private business for practical contact with the Government, Dr. Isaacs' course will show the businessman actually functioning with the Government.
For this purpose approximately 300 legal cases have already been collected and edited as illustrations on some of the following points of contant:
How the businessman obtains his licenses, charters, and franchises from the Government; how he pays his fees and duties to the Government; how his business is regulated by the Government accordingly as it concerns public interests; and how he relies on the Government for the security of his transactions and acquisitions.
To train men to meet the demands of this new situation is the aim of the Business School program. For this training Dr. Isaacs' course, which will not specialize in any one phase of the situation, is designed to serve as a general introduction.
