Semi-finals in the Ames Competition for Law School student clubs were completed last night in the second evening of debate at Langdell Hall. The Powell Club was last night's victor in a mock trial to determine the constitutionality of the tax on inter-state sales.
Finals, it was announced, will be held on January 21, with the Powell Club opposing Thursday night's winner, the Pow-wow Club.
The Judicial bench serving last night included: John J. Parker, Circuit Judge for the Fourth Court, Edwin L. Page, Justice of the Supreme Court of New Hampshire, and Clarence G. Washburn, Judge of Court of Appeals of Ohio.
Those on the student counsel last night were: for the Marshall Club, William Grant and James S. Kemper, Jr.; and for the Powell Club, Thomas J. Davis, Jr., and William S. Fay.
