RABBIT GLEE CLUB TO RENDER JOINT CONCERT

WELLESLEY GROUP FIRST TO GIVE CONCERT HERE

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Wellesley's Madrigal Group Choir will join forces with the Leverett House Glee Club tonight in a concert to be given following the House Christmas dinner.

This will be the first time that any Wellesley choral group has performed at the University. The Madrigal Group and the Leverett singers will each give six selections separately and will combine their talents in three numbers at the end of the program.

Cantata Feature

A feature of the concert will be the performance of Vaughn Williams' cantata "In Windsor Forest," taken from the opera "Sir John in Love." This will be the first time that this cantata has ever been sung in America.

The two other selections that will be given by the combined chorus are "Down in Yon Forest," and "Sing We Noel," arrangements of two old English carols. Selections from the choral works of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart and Praetorius will feature the rest of the program.

Katharine Hack, Wellesley, class of '39, will direct the Madrigal group, while George W. Phillips '39, is to conduct the Leverett House Glee Club.
