Winthrop Makes Huge War Bond, Stamp Buys

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

David R. Sanders '44 and William C. Dunckel '44, sponsors of Winthrop House War Bond and Stamp sale, have announced a self-satisfied total of war sales this week amounting to $1120.70, a feat of excellence for which they credit themselves entirely.

Their salesmanship is based upon the "you ain't doing me no favor" approach which makes the buyer itch for their bits of paper. The boys claim they are valuable to own.

Instead of using moral obligations and torture racks to get results, or of blocking the two exits of the Winthrop House dining hall, where the war stocks are sold, with members of the boxing team, they sit huddled together in a corner by a single door, looking uninterestedly at the ceiling.
