Earning Harvard its first weight throwing title in 11 years, Willo Fisher threw the 35-pound hammer 50 feet 8 1/2 inches Saturday at the 22nd annual intercollegiate I.C.4A field meet in New York.

Also entering the meet for the Crimson was Don MacKinnon, Varsity track captain, who won his heat in the 60-yard high hurdles, running the course in 0:07.7. However, he failed to place in the semifinals because of a poor start.

Wins by One Inch

Fisher's throw beat out Cornell's Clark Sanford by a margin of one inch to capture the event while none of the other competitors went over the 50 foot mark. Third place went to Bill Stoll of N. Y. U., and Dick Wareham of M. I. T. took fourth.

It was not until his second throw in the final round that Fisher was able to pull ahead of the Ithacan star and gain for Harvard a title which it has not held since Murdock Finlayson's heave in 1932.
