Band to Solicit Funds At Coast Guard Game

The University band will attempt to improve its admittedly shaky financial condition by soliciting contributions from students on October 19, Warren Smith '48, manager, said last night.

Participation in the band coats a musician $28 per season, Warren declared, because the Athletic Association does not sponsor the organization. He warned that student support is needed to keep the band intact.

"We are dependent upon good will of the alumni and undergraduates," Smith said, adding that capital is now running so low that the Dartmouth trip is jeopardised.
