Responding to a request made by Keyes D. Metcalf, director of the University Library, the Student Council yesterday named a three-man group to work with officials on plans for the proposed new Lamont Undergraduate Library.
Levin H. Campbell, 3rd '48, Council president, said that George Keegan '44, of Leverett; James Broderick '46, of Adams; and Staughton C. Lynd '50, of Straus Hall, will compose the Library Committee.
Views of the students concerning such problems as whether smoking should be permitted, and the various possible layouts for the reading rooms, are probable matter's for the unit's consideration.
