Out of Tuesday's Primary election free for-all, where the candidates nearly outnumbered the voters, at least two members of the University surged through the opposition to get a foothold in state politics.

George R. Kelly '44 of Norwood carried off one of the Democratic nominations for State Representative in the Seventh Norfolk District according to Schedule, leaving him the prospect of swinging a normally Republican electorate with his Irish-veteran-Harvard background.

Strangling the hopes of his opponent for State Senator, who sought to clinch the decision by running both party tickets, Phillip K. Allen, of Andover, of the Counsellor for Veterans office will carry the Crimson and G.O.P banners side by side next November in the Fourth Essex district.
