Record-Breaking Extension Course Program Begins

Eleven Boston Area Institutions Participate in Vast Project, Offer Twenty-Eight Course

Twenty-eight university extension courses, the majority starting this week, will be jointly offered this year by the Commission on Extension Courses and the University.

Eleven local educational institutions are represented in the program, which has this year planned a record-breaking number of courses.

Among the offerings in the catalogue are child psychology, general botany, money and banking. English composition, literature and art, spoken French, Italian, geographic influences in the development of Europe, psychology, music, general zoology, and origins and development of the American Constitution.

No Entrance Requirements.

Although there are no entrances requirements and no prerequisite examinations, the program carries with it credit towards the degree of Adjunct in Arts at Harvard. All courses are held in the late afternoon evening, or Saturday morning. Tuition fees are $2.50, or $5.00. The program is supported, in part, by grants from the Lowell Institute. Last year there were 1,243 registrations.

The institutions cooperating are Harvard, Tufts College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston College, Boston University, Museum of Fine Arts, Wellesley College, Simmons College, Lowell Institute, Massachusetts Board of Education, and the School Committee of of the City of Boston.
