Libraries Announce Rules for Vacation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The men who guard the tomes which hulge the University library announced their vacation-time borrowing policy yesterday. Word from Widener outlawed the withdrawal of reserve books from the Reading Room, while books not on the reserve lists may be borrowed in the time-honored fashion at the horseshoe desk.

At the Union and Boylston reading rooms, similar rules will prevail. However, books on the reserve list there may be taken out over the vacation if the special approval of the Boylston librarian is obtained.

Librarians cited the brevity of the vacation as the main reason why reserve books will not circulate freely, also stressing that many students plan to remain here over recess. They were dubious that demands for books to take home for study would prove very heavy.
