Radcliffe Models in Fashion Parade

For Posture, Books

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

If the game room at Cabot Hall had overstuffed furniture and a plush rug, it could have given a convincing imitation of a drawing room and Schiaperelli last night. The occasion was the picking of 23 models to represent Radcliffe at the Intercollegiate Fashion show. Fifty-five photogenic 'Cliffedwellers appeared for the contest.

In order to obtain the ultra-sophistication required of a high fashion model, the judges had each entrant parade with a book upon her head. It was Gilson's "The Spirit of Medieval Philosophy."

Surprise!

Surprise member to the board of judges was P. Whitman Etter '51, the fashions editor of the Radcliffe NEWS. Another new feature was the addition of "a good figure" to the three other judging points, poise, carriage, and style.

The large number of applicants has made unnecessary the plans to hold another judging this afternoon. Although the trials were over by 9 p.m. yesterday, the judges did not believe they would reach any decisions "before early in the morning."
