Lally Impeached By Inter - House Dance Committee

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

John K. Lally '49 was removed last night as chairman of the College Social Affairs Committee.

The committee gave him a five to four vote of no confidence on the basis of two main charges presented by Harold S. Spear '48. The charges were:

1.) That, as Chairman of the Committee at the time of the post-Yale game dance, he failed to organize adequately the splitting of profits between the various Houses, never obtaining the agreement of all the Houses to a measure proposed at an early meeting at which no minutes were kept.

Second Charge

2) That, through Carlos A. Arosmena '49, he told the Crimson Key members Wednesday night that they could have April 23 as the date for an all-College dance, although that date was already assigned to the class of '51 dance.

In answer to the charges, Lally said last night that he was not Chairman of the Committee during the October meeting, at which no minutes were kept of the profit-splitting agreement, having been elected at the conclusion of the meeting.

In regard to the second charge by Spear, Lally said that he had told first Fred A. Fialkow '51, a Crimson Key candidate, who had approached him, and later Arosemena, that the Key could have the weekend only if the '51 representative was willing to waive his priority on the date.
