Alumni Will Confer With Students About Future Career Opportunities

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Over 300 alumni, representing all parts of the country, will discuss career problems with students during the coming vacation and at other times during the year, the Office of Student Placement announced yesterday.

Seniors and other students interested in receiving information or counsel about any business or profession can inquire at the Office for the names of alumni advisors in their areas.

The alumni group represents a wide variety of activity, business, professional, and otherwise, Alexander Clark, Assistant Director of the Office, said in making the announcement. He explained that seniors contemplating graduate courses, especially medicine and law, could profit by talks with experienced men in these fields. Last year 409 students made use of this program.

Clark emphasized that these Advisors are not intended to act as employment agencies, but rather as a counseling service to aid the student who is not yet certain of his choice of career.

The Alumni Advisor Program was begun in 1948, when the Office contacted Harvard Clubs in all parts of the country.
