Pretty Waban Lasses Begin Current Season

"The Girl behind the Teapot" returned to her traditional Waban haunts yesterday, pursued by gobs of eager Crimson men with poised pencils and address books. An estimated 460 freshmen turned up yesterday, while the "old girls" can while away their last hours of summer freedom until they have to report Saturday.

Observers at the opening festivities yesterday were impressed by the collective charm of this year's crop. Gone was the old, familiar naive, high-school type and replacing it was a brand of sophistication formerly known only to Radcliffe freshmen. College men nonplussed by the harrowing dating conditions at 'Cliffe will now be able to look forward to this new weekend potential.

For the first time since before the turn of the century, Wellesley freshmen will not occupy the historical and ramshackle houses in the "Village", which is apart from the regular campus. Most of the class of '56 will instead share the on campus dorms with all upperclassmen.
