Sports Writers Pick Greeley For All-New England Sextet

Forward Walt Greeley was the only member of the Crimson sextet to be elected to the first-string 1953 All-New England hockey team. He received 42 votes from a group of Boston sports writers, officials, and radio men.

Jeff Coolidge and Amory Hubbard made defense and attack on the second-string All-N.E. squad with 26 and 40 votes respectively, while defenseman Ed Mrkonich and forward Dick Clasby rated honorable mention for the Crimson. The Crimson's 3 to 2 overtime victory over B.U. was rated the season's best game.

Ray Picard, Northeastern's All-American goalie, was named the outstanding college player in New England, and was unanimously elected by 55 votes.
