The varsity wrestlers, led by Captain Johnny Lee, finished seventh out of 16 teams competing in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships at Princeton over the weekend. Penn State, Cornell, Lehigh captured the lost three sports.

Lee defeated his first three opponents in the 123 pound division and was leading Alex McCurd of Lehigh in the finals, when McCurd suddenly pinned him with 41 seconds remaining in the nine minute bout.

Except for Lee, none of the Crimson's other four quarterfinalists went any farther. Dick Adams lost to Douglas Blackman of Cornell 7 to 0 in the 130 pound class, and Dick's brother Bud was topped 8 to 1 by Angus McLean of Brown at 137 pounds.

Chick Chandler lost a hard-fought 8 to 4 decision to Edwin Rooney of Syracuse. Who went on to win the 157 pound divisional title.

The Crimson's last remaining hope, 177 pound Ken Culbert, was pinned in 5:32 by Al Paulekas, Captain of the Army football team.

Lee was serving in the United States army at the start of the season, and was unexpectedly discharged in time to participate in most the squad's important meets.
