'56 Tennis Team Wins; Ten and Golfers Lose

Coach Corey Wynn's freshman tennis team easily defeated St. Mark's School yesterday 8 to 1, while the Yardling lacrosse team lost to a heavily favored Andover team.

In the number one tennis slot Hamish Gravem beat Al Schilling in three sets, 6-2, 5-7, and 6-3. St. Mark's got their only victory when Peter Moore defeated second-ranked Brooks Harris, 6-1, 6-3.

Captain Dexter Lewis scored half of the '56 lacrosse team's points as they were outplayed by a powerful Andover ten, 12 to 6. John Canning replaced regular Tom Cooney in the Crimson goal.

The freshman golfers also fell to a strong Andover team 8 1/2 to 1/2. After the meet the Yardlings elected Dick Savrann team captain.

The '56 baseball team dropped a 1 to 0 loss to Dartmouth at Hanover.

Registering a third loss for the freshmen, the '56 baseball team lost a tight 1 to 0 game to the Dartmouth freshmen at Hanover. Ed Rossano went all the way for the Yardlings.
