Jordan Advises Forgetting Victory Over UMass, Prepares for Cornell

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

"The sooner the team forgets last Saturday and gets ready for what's ahead, the better," Coach Lloyd Jordan told a Boston football writers' luncheon yesterday.

A few hours later, back in Soldiers Field, Jordan was busy putting his words into action, sending his team through defense drills against Cornell pass patterns.

In the first backfield were three regulars, Matt Botsford, Tony Gianelly, Leo Daley, and a newcomer to the group, Marion "Terry" Cheek, a six-foot-one, 195-pound wingback, who usually plays behind both John Simourian and Ron Eikenberry.

Eikenberry is out with pulled leg tendons, and while Simeurian, a star of Saturday's rout, dressed for practice Jordan decided to rest him and play Cheek in his place. Also missing from action was sophomore tallback Walt Stahura, who has a bruised back. However, Jordan said after practice that barring injuries this week, his team would be at full strength for the Big Red invasion.
