The nine, bolstered by a fine relief job by pitcher Dae Collins, collected 16 safeties to continue their blistering pace at the plate. Leading the attack were Frank Saia with a home run and two singles, Tom Bergantino with three singles, John Davis and Bob Cleary with two triples, and Collins with two safeties.
