PARIS, March 22--France moved today to convene a special three-power foreign ministers' meeting here to spell out a common Western policy for the preservation of peace in the Middle East.
Invitations for such a meeting are being sent by French Foreign Minister Christian Pineau to U.S. Secretary of State John Foster Dulles and British Foreign Secretary Selwyn Lloyd through the French embassies in Washington and London, a Foreign Ministry official said tonight.
Security Council Meets
UNITED NATIONS, N.Y., March 22-- The Security Council of the United Nations meets Monday on the Palestine crisis with Russia expected, at least tentatively, to approve a new American-sponsored plan that would send Secretary-Gen. Dag Hammarskjold on a Middle East peace mission, possibly on April 2.
Tunisian Nationalists Riot
TUNIS, March 22--About 3,000 Tunisian nationalists rioted here today to emphasize demands for quick, complete independence. French security forces broke up the demonstration with fire hoses and tear gas after a 45-minute fight.
Meanwhile, crowds of Tunisians cheered the moderate nationalist leader, Habib Bourgiba, on his return from Paris with a French pledge of autonomy in which some ties between France and Tunisia will be retained. They gave Bourgiba ovations at the airport and at the palace of the Bey of Tunis, to whom he reported.
