The Mathematics Department has announced that a team composed of Everett C. Dade '58, David B. Mumford '57, and Rohit J. Parikh '57 will defend the University's championship in the William Lowell Putnam Intercollegiate Mathematical Competition, to be held on Saturday, March 2.

Although the Harvard team has already been set up, it is not too late for any undergraduate to enter the individual competition. Applications must be handed in at the office of Andrew M. Gleason, associate professor of Mathematics, 2 Divinity Ave., by Thursday.

The University will also be defending the individual championship, which was won last year by Richard M. Friedberg '56.

Contestants will be required to take two three-hour exams to compete.
