Ski Teams Plan to Enter Hanover and Colby Meets

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity ski team, split into two sections, will journey north this weekend to participate in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association Championship meet at Hanover, N.H., and the Colby Winter Carnival at Waterville, Me.

The A team with the leading skiiers will enter the Hanover meet. Although they are rated ninth in a field of eleven, several individual skiers are expected to place high.

At Colby, a B team and two freshmen will represent the Crimson. The freshmen, Bill Niemi and Lincoln Ford, cannot enter the team competition because of Association rules, but they hope to take points in individual standings.

The Intercollegiate meet will not take place entirely in Hanover because high temperatures have rendered the new $125,000 Dartmouth ski slope useless for some events. Enough snow is present for jumping Saturday afternoon and the cross country race, but the slalom race Friday morning and the down hill race Saturday morning will be held on Suicide Six, in Woodstock, Vermont.
