Barbara Tettelbach, a twenty-year-old blond photographer's model from Manhattanville College, Purchase, New York, was chosen from 27 candidates for the role of Juliet in the forthcoming production of the Harvard Shakespearian Players, producer Maurice Ford announced Sunday night.

Victor N. Claman, who was the original producer for the Players' presentation of 'The Play's the Thing,' resigned Sunday, and Maurice Ford, aided by Sarah Edmond, have taken over the production. Claman said work on "The Gondoliers" forced his resignation.

Miss Tettelbach is a member of the Manhattanville Drama Club, and has appeared in many starring roles, including Hedda Gabler and Lady Macbeth, Ford said. She and a classmate won an intercollegiate Drama Contest for the "recognition scene" from Anastasia, he added.

Romeo and Juliet is one of four plays in the Shakespearian production "The Play's the Thing,' which the Harvard Players will present next Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, August 15-17, in the Union Commons Room. The other three plays are Richard II, Henry IV, Part I and The Midsummer Night's Dream."

Besides Miss Tettelbach, other leading roles in the production are played by Eugene Gervasi, as Richard II; Earle Edgerton, as Falstaff; Bruce Macdonald as Theseus; Thomas Lumbard as Lysander; and Erich Segal as Romeo.

Admission for the production will be only 90 cents, for the Players are aiming for a Summer School audience, said Ford. The directors for the presentation are Eugene Gervasi and Thomas Lumbard.
