Crimson Golfers To Meet Brown, Princeton Today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The varsity golf team will meet Brown and Princeton this afternoon at 1:30 p.m. at the Charles River Golf Course.

The Princeton team is one of the best in the East, as it was last year, and could bring some trouble. Brown, however, led by Harry Batchelor, has a considerably week team, which has lost to Boston College, Wesleyan, and Williams. The Crimson defeated Williams last week, 4 to 3.

Coach Cooney Weiland has decided to start Perry Driggs in number one position. Driggs has had a record of five wins and no losses so far this season. Frank Dodge, whose record stands at three and one, will play in number two, followed by Allan Steinert, whose only loss this season has been to B.C.'s star golfer, Charley Volpone.

Dave Beady and Alfred Gruendemann who shot 75 and 76 respectively in qualifying rounds yesterday, will follow Steinert. Captain Warren Iliff, whose record is two wins and one loss, will play in number six. Last man will be Sophomore Watt Tyler, who has won two and lost none.

The triangulars tomorrow will be followed by a match with Holy Cross on next Tuesday at Charles River. Next weekend, the varsity will travel to New York City to meet Columbia and the University of Pennsylvania at Van Cortlandt Park.

The freshman golfers will take to the links for their second match, to be played against Andover on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The match will be played at the Andover course. On their first time out this season, the Crimson freshmen defeated Governor Dummer Academy, 8 to 1.
